For now, I have found an intermediate solution: men's deodorant. I have yet to find a women's non-antiperspirant deodorant, but there are plenty for men. While it does contain synthetic fragrances, of which I am also leery, it works. I can't tell you how many dollars/pounds of plastic I've thrown into the landfill in the form of useless natural deodorants. I'm still not giving up -- I'm sure I'll find the one one of these days, but for now, this is certainly a lesser evil. If you're looking for a good transition from antiperspirant to a safe deodorant, this is at least a step in the right direction. After smelling just about every men's deodorant at Target, I have decided that Old Spice "Fresh" is the least manly. I still smell a little bit like "cute boy," but it's a lot better than plugging my pits with chemicals, and so far it's served me well, even at the gym.
What do you do for deodorant? Have you found anything natural that works? Like, really works. I'd love some feedback!

I tried a natural deodorant, which I loved at first. I even blogged about it.. At first it seemed to work well, but after a week or two, it just wasn't cutting it. Like you, I've looked through a bunch of women's deodorant and it all has antiperspirant. I like the idea of using men's. I always think my husband smells awesome. I wouldn't mind smelling like him. ..I wonder if he would mind....
ReplyDeleteStumbled upon your blog from Homestead Revival - I've done the same thing, using Old Spice for years until I found Alvera. For some reason Old Spice began irritating my skin. Google "Alvera deodorant". I LOVE the Aloe and Almond one. Good luck!
